I'm finished!

I went to the computer lab with Ericka last night and she helped me figure out wix.com for my e-portfolio! It turned out really cool! Class was a little crazy this morning! We kept getting kick out! I am so ready for the weekend! Time to relax!

I can't believe that summer school is almost over! Today in class (online) we talked about bookmarking sights and the benefits of having all of your bookmarks organized in one place. I think it is a great idea! We also went to wordpress.com and made an account to start our e-portfolio on. I messed around with wix.com yesterday and it is pretty fun to design a blog that way!

Today some of the other class members showed us their cool blogs and all the neat things that you can put on them! I really liked the slide show feature and am going to try that on mine so I can put more pictures in less of a space! All for that! We get the rest of the week and into next week to work on our own, so hopefully I can get busy on the Webquest assignment. It is a little overwhelming! I also had a math test today! Yuck! Hopefully, I didn't do too bad!

Hey! Survived the weekend! It was great to be in the mountains! So nice and cool and the smell of pine trees...... back to the grind of work and school now! We talked in class this morning about adding music to our blogs and how to do it. And if you look all the way to the bottom.......I figured it out! Yea! I have also been going through the lesson plans on UEN to pick a lesson for my webquest. It is hard to choose one that will work using it on the web! I think so anyway! We also learned about Bookmarking and some different sights for that like delicious.com. We are supposed to set up an account there so I guess that is on my agenda for today! :)

Today starts the new month of July! It has been very HOT here in St George also! Class today was kind of short and sweet. We talked about wikis and web quest. I am most excited about web quest because I think it will be a great tool to use in the classroom. We have to do a lesson plan and put it on web quest. It will be a challenge but fun. I'm not going to worry about class though until Tuesday! I'm leaving town! Happy 4th of July!

Class went better today....talked about google doc. and how to use it. We are supposed to upload our philosophy of education to google doc and have it peer reviewed by our group. I have been working on the rationales and trying to get a little bit ahead because we are going out of town for 4 days for the 4th and I won't have access to a computer. My husband thinks that all I do is homework! Haha!

We didn't have class today, just supposed to work on our own. I have been working on the assignments trying to get as many of them done as I can. We are leaving town for the 4th of July weekend and going camping at Pine Lake! I am so excited! It will be sooooo much cooler up there! I worked on my UEN classes today and really like it. There is a lot of information out there. I watched the Advanced Power Point video and also the Digital Story Telling video. I learned a lot in both of them.

Week 2 of our class started off pretty crazy! It was our first time with all of us in the Wimba room and it didn't go so well! Dr. Davis kept getting kicked off and there was all kinds of feedback from the sound. I hope it goes better next time! The rest of the day went great! Went to math class at 9am and then to lunch at Cafe Rio with my mom! Then Suni decided we should go on a 12 mile bike ride! It was 107 today! Well, we went and it was HOT! But is was way fun and good to get back on my bike again! I hadn't rode it since the Tri last weekend! Some drivers are so rude to bikers! I think that everyone should try riding at least once and then they will have a lot more understanding for those that are riding! Share the Road People!!!!

7:00am is soooo early! It has been a great week and we have learned a lot! We made our blogs and presented them to the class. Today we get to do a digital photo scavenger hunt. This is something I love to do is to take pictures! Yea!

Day 2

Got to class today and computer wouldn't work! That's technology for you! You have to roll with the punches! I just had to restart and get rid of my saved internet browser and then I could log on to Vista. You learn something new every day!

Summer Education Class-Technology

In this summer class, we are learning about how to use technology in the classroom. Dr. Shirley Davis is the instructor and is awesome! I am really excited to learn about the new technology that is available to use and teach with my students!
